STEP 1: COMPLETE ONLINE APPLICATION
To apply for a position at UTHealth Houston, we would like to learn more about you. You will need to complete our online application; providing us as much information as you can about your education, credentials, relevant skills and experience.
You might be required to attach a copy of your resume. Please note that a resume does not replace the information that needs to be included in your application.
Once your application and resume have been submitted, they will be reviewed by a recruiter.

STEP 2: INTERVIEW(S)
For those candidates selected to advance to the interview step, you will be contacted directly to interview. An initial phone interview may be conducted prior to advancing to the next interview or final interview(s). This first conversation will help to determine whether your knowledge, skills, and abilities fit with the job needs. Other details such as your ability to work certain schedules may be discussed. This interview also gives you an opportunity to ask questions.
The interview format with hiring managers can vary. You may be asked to participate in one or more interviews with the hiring manager and/or a panel interview with additional team members. This interview is normally conducted in person.
The interview time with the hiring manager is a great opportunity for you to better understand the position you are applying for, and hear firsthand what it is like to work at UTHealth Houston.

STEP 3: JOB OFFER
If you have been identified as the successful candidate for the position, you will be given a conditional offer of employment. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check process to include sanctions and criminal background clearance and completion of UT Health Services requirements as applicable. The conditional offer may be presented verbally over the phone to ensure you accept the terms and conditions of the offer.
If you accept, you will be sent an email with details of your offer, pre-employment paperwork and information about our orientation process. As a new employee at UTHealth Houston, you will be subject to a six (6) month probationary period.

STEP 4: BACKGROUND SCREENING
All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check process to include sanctions and criminal background clearance and completion of UT Health Services requirements as applicable and are conducted by our vendor, Sterling Infosystems.

STEP 5: ORIENTATION & ON-BOARDING
UTHealth Houston provides all new employees with an orientation session. These are typically scheduled each Monday and typically on the employees first day of employment.
Attending orientation will ensure you have the information you need to be successful when you first start. Details of the orientation are included in the welcome email with the conditional offer of employment. The hiring manager will also contact you with additional details of your first week of employment.
