The Texas Institute for Restorative Neurotechnologies (TIRN) harnesses advancements and developments in neuroscience, neuro-technology, and neuro-informatics to transform the understanding and treatment of brain disorders.

TIRN integrates clinical programs, basic science research, technological innovation, and academic training to target diseases of the brain.

FIVE PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

  • Elevate the Texas Comprehensive Epilepsy Program as an international center of excellence for epilepsy care
  • Leverage our expertise in neuroscience, neurotechnology, and neuroinformatics to treat patients with epilepsy and enhance the research programs at UTHealth
  • Maximize the potential of big data discovery by harnessing the power of modern computer science and enabling the delivery of precision medicine to patients
  • Engage and collaborate with leading industry partners dedicated to driving big-data discoveries that further science and technology
  • Create a world-class clinical neural engineering program that leverages knowledge gained from our research initiatives to advance our clinical care for epilepsy and related functional disorders
