Commitment to Non-Discrimination

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is committed to providing an academic environment free from discrimination, which includes all forms of sexual misconduct.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance. To ensure compliance with Title IX and other federal and state civil rights laws, the university has developed policies that prohibit discrimination and sexual misconduct in all of its forms.

Any questions regarding Title IX may be referred to the Title IX Coordinator.

Our Title IX Coordinators

The Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator have received specialized training and are knowledgeable about sex discrimination including sexual misconduct, harassment, and violence. They also know about UTHealth’s policies prohibiting discrimination and sexual misconduct and can provide information on options for complaint resolution. The Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator play an integral role in carrying out UTHealth’s commitment to providing a positive learning, teaching, and working environment that is free from sex discrimination.
