Jose-Miguel Yamal, PhD

Dr. Yamal, Associate Professor of Biostatistics and Data Science and Director of the Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials at the University of Texas School of Public Health, is a clinical trialist and data scientist. He is the PI of the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) for the PCORI-sponsored multi-site BEST-MSU trial, a comparative effectiveness trial of the Mobile Stroke Unit (with PI Dr. Jim Grotta). He was also the Principal Investigator of the Statistical Core for a NIH-sponsored Phase II clinical trial EPO Severe Traumatic Brain Injury Trial studying the effects of Erythropoietin on Cerebral Vascular Dysfunction & Anemia (with PI Dr. Claudia Robertson). He is a DSMB member for the NINDS StrokeNet (stroke trial network) and a member of the NHLBI Clinical Trials Review Committee. Dr. Yamal has interests in conducting clinical trials as well as developing prediction models.
