Dr. Jared Chen is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at UTHealth Houston Neurosciences who specializes in neuroendovascular surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and neurocritical care. He has clinical interests in diseases that affect the blood vessels of the brain and spine, which include aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, arteriovenous fistulas, stroke, carotid stenosis, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, and venous sinus stenosis.

Dr. Chen received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed residency training in neurological surgery at the University of Virginia in 2021.

During his residency training, he also completed an enfolded fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery at the University of Virginia, followed by a cerebrovascular surgery fellowship at the Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. In 2022, he completed a fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and neurocritical care at the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Chen’s research interests are in clinical trials and clinical outcomes in cerebrovascular diseases including intracerebral hemorrhage, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations,
dural arteriovenous fistulas, carotid-cavernous fistulas, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral vasospasm, carotid stenosis, cavernous malformation, and ischemic stroke.
