The Cizik Nursing Resource Institute is organized into five cores that highlight scientific areas of strength across the UTHealth Houston campus.
The Administrative Core provides comprehensive management of the institute’s budget, funding initiatives, and strategic collaborations; coordinates major grant submissions; and monitors performance metrics.
The Research Informatics Core supports nursing research with the integration of informatics and cutting-edge technology into nursing research studies.
The Biobehavioral Health Research Core provides access to and training on state-of-the-art genomic approaches to investigate how changes in DNA sequence and epigenetic modifications cause changes in behavior, and how this may lead to development of behavioral disorders through a collaborative model that links bench scientists with clinician scientists.
The Vulnerable Populations Research Core helps reduce health disparities and promote health equity by supporting studies of populations vulnerable to exploitation and stigmatization during the research process.
