Postdoctoral/Research Fellow Awards

First, Second and Third place awards will be awarded independent of the school.

Graduate Student Awards

First place awards will be given to one graduate student from each Department/Center. Second and third place awards will group all graduate student participants together and awards will be independent of the school.

Undergraduate Students

Students in the Neuroscience program in the BioSciences Department at Rice University are encouraged to participate.


Annual Neuroscience Poster Session Registration Information

Participation
Sign-in and breakfast will be provided at 9:00 a.m. Judging will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Graduate Students in the UTHealth Houston GSBS, BCM Department of Neuroscience or Rice University Departments of BioSciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering and Psychology; and the University of Houston Department of Psychology are eligible to submit an abstract to compete for an award. Past first place winners are not eligible to receive an award but are still encouraged to present a poster.

Postdoctoral Fellows in the laboratory of a UTHealth Neuroscience Research Center member, BCM Department of Neuroscience or Rice University Departments of BioSciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering and Psychology are eligible to submit an abstract to compete for an award.

Only one abstract as first author may be submitted for the competition. Faculty members, research scientists, residents and medical students are encouraged to display their neuroscience posters during the Poster Session but need to register in advance as space is limited.

Boards

Poster boards are 5’8” (1.7m) wide and 3’8” (1.1m) high.
Poster numbers will be available the morning of the event at sign-in.  Place your poster on the board number that matches your abstract number.

Set-up

Boards will be available for set-up starting at 9:00 am on Saturday, December 2.  Please arrive early as there will be many people checking in at the same time.  Push pins will be available.  Please take your poster down directly after the event or it may be discarded.

Judging and Awards

Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will be judged separately and awarded separate prizes. Each poster will be judged by three different scientists.

Judging will end by 11:30 and presentations of awards will be at noon.
