Biography
Born in Slovenia in 1990, obtained his medical degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich in 2016. Doctoral thesis in experimental cardiac surgery from the same university (magna cum laude, 2020). Training in cardiac surgery at the Department of Cardiac Surgery at University Hospital Bern since 2016 (PGY 6). Since 2022 research fellow at the Center for Advanced Heart Failure in Houston, TX. Focused research on the effect of the new generation continuous flow left ventricular assist devices and short term non-pulsatile circulatory support systems on clinical outcomes in patients with end-stage heart failure. In addition, microcuirculatory changes in mechanical circulatory support in advanced heart failure are further investigated (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6298-7985).
