Biography

Dr. Himani Dey received her master's degree in Biochemistry and molecular biology in 2014 from Pondicherry University, India. She received her PhD degree in 2022 from National Institute of Science education and Research, India where she studied the biochemistry and mechanism of membrane trafficking during nuclear expansion. She joined Dr. Ruth Heidelberger's lab as postdoctoral researcher in 2022 to study the electrophysiology of vesicle fusion dynamics in retinal neurotransmission.

Currently she is working towards understanding the mechanism and regulation of SNARE- mediated vesicle fusion during neurotransmission in retina using patch-clamp technique.
