Biography

Joshua Babalola completed his doctoral studies in 2023 during which he investigated the combinational effects of Type 2 diabetes and protein post translational modification in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease. Joshua is interested in translating life science skills into solving real life problems relating to microbial infections, aging, metabolic dysfunctions and neurodegenerative diseases. Aside these, he advocates for inclusive science and lifestyle changes. Joshua's educational background includes an MSc in Medical Microbiology from Hallym University, South Korea and a PhD in Human Medicine from Medical University of Graz, Austria. He also holds a BSc in Microbiology from Ekiti State University, Nigeria.

Research Description

During the course of my Postdoctoral training, l will be investigating the immune responses evoked due to distinct amyloid beta conformational strains. In addition, l will also be investigating the contributions of microbial infections particularly bacterial infections to the progression of Alzheimer's disease.
