Chan, Vaughan to oversee AEGD/GPR programs

Associate Professor Michael M. Chan, DDS, has been named the director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program, in addition to his director role in the General Dentistry Residency (GPR) Program. Also, Associate Professor Steven Vaughan, DDS, has been named post graduate general dentistry clinical director.

Chan received his DDS degree from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry in 1997. He completed his general practice residency at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry in 1999 and has been a member of our faculty since the. He advanced from the rank of part-time faculty to GPR director in 2017. He also maintains a private practice.

Vaughan is also a UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry graduate, completing his DDS degree in 2004. He completed a one-year advanced general dentistry residency at the VA Medical Center in San Antonio. Maintaining a private practice, Vaughan has served as a part-time faculty for the AEGD and GPR programs since 2005. A fellow and a master in the Academy of General Dentistry, he is also board-certified by the American Board of General Dentistry.
