People who may be interested in participating in research studies in Houston and Texas can now unite with UTHealth researchers and other doctors nationwide by joining ResearchMatch.

The site is the product of the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Consortium, which is funded by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The CTSA is a national network of medical research institutions, and University of Texas institutions include UTHealth in Houston, University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. 

How does ResearchMatch work?

ResearchMatch will match any interested individuals residing in the United States with researchers who are approved to recruit potential research volunteers through the ResearchMatch system. After an individual has self-registered to become a volunteer, ResearchMatch’s security features ensure that personal information is protected until volunteers authorize the release of their contact information to a specific study that may be of interest to them. Volunteers are notified via email that they are a possible match for a study and can then make the decision regarding the release of their contact information to the study team.
