Kevin Dillon serves as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of UTHealth Houston. 

Dillon has worked for UTHealth Houston since 1996, and has held numerous executive-level positions. He assumed responsibilities as chief operating officer in September 2007 and was promoted to senior executive vice president in January 2011.

He currently has ultimate responsibility for virtually all of the nonacademic operational areas of this $2.2 billion institution within The University of Texas System. This includes responsibility for facilities, planning, engineering, and auxiliary enterprises; information technology; finance; budgeting; practice plan business operations; environmental health and safety; and technology management. He has a direct reporting relationship with all of the chief administrative officers at UTHealth Houston’s seven schools, as well as UTHealth Houston Harris County Psychiatric Center, the Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center, and several research institutes.

Dillon serves as co-chair of the Executive Steering Committee for UTHealthCONNECT, a transformational initiative to implement an integrated electronic health record and revenue cycle system enhancing the connection for patients and their health care teams at UTHealth Houston. He is also the treasurer of UT Physicians, the clinical practice of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, with more than 2,300 clinicians certified in more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties. He serves on the executive committee of the board of the Texas Medical Center’s Thermal Energy Corporation. He has also chaired the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s Health-Related Institutions’ Formula Advisory Committee. He is a past board chair of Greater Houston HealthConnect, the largest health information exchange in Texas.

Prior to working at UTHealth Houston, Dillon worked for Pennzoil Quaker State and Ernst & Young in a variety of accounting and financial roles. He is a CPA and achieved the Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Management Accountant Professional designations earlier in his career.

Dillon was a long-time board member, and ultimately board chair, of the Houston-area Harris School, a therapeutic preschool for special needs children. The Harris School is affiliated with the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston.

Dillon graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration.
